The founder of Studio van de Griend, Eveline van de Griend, was born in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, the hometown of the famous painter Hieronymus Bosch 500 years ago.
She grew up in Africa, England and Russia, before returning to The Netherlands to study drawing, painting and sculpture at the Art Academy 's-Hertogenbosch. She taught at Art Academies in The Netherlands, gave lectures internationally, and was an artist-in-residence in France, Italy, Germany and South Africa. She went to Pietrasanta in Italy where she learned the classical technic of carving in marble.
Currently Eveline is living and working in Berlin, Germany and The Netherlands. Eveline van de Griend exhibited at De Pont Museum of Contemporary Art Tilburg, The Netherlands, Freies Museum Berlin, National Museum Berlin, Germany and participated in many international exhibitions.
